Izabela Katafoni is a Certified Passive House Designer with a passion for sustainable living, designing inspiring homes that are practical, affordable and contribute to our well-being.
Izabela treats homes as ecosystems. Taking a holistic approach to integrate elements of their functionality, aesthetics and structure, Izabela pairs them together in a biophilic design that enhances connection between people and their environment.
Her European background forms a solid base for her understanding on how to design efficiently and with purpose.
“Living in a 54sqm apartment has taught me to be very creative with a space we had, creating zones and areas that were multi defined and interchangeable”.
She established Studio Origami in 2014 and has developed a passion for modular technology and the importance of the cost-effective solutions in the residential industry.
Izabela has designed her own home with Structural Insulated Panels, which has won multiple Design and Building Industry awards. The process of building a high performing home that uses the Energy recovery system and PassiveHouse principles gave her exceptional technical knowledge and insight into panel construction.
She now wants to share her knowledge with her clients and help to educate them on smarter choices – with a belief that sustainable design is for everyone and it doesn’t have to cost a fortune.
